Hwang Chan Sung is a South Korean singer, dancer, actor and member of 2PM (투피엠). He graduated from Korea Arts High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Acting from Howon University and a master's degree in Film Arts from Sejong University. He made his acting debut in 2006 with a minor role in the comedy "High Kick!". In early 2008, JYP Entertainment (JYP엔터테인먼트) launched a reality/documentary show called "Hot Blood Men" capturing the training program of 14 trainees. After 3 were eliminated, the remaining 11 trainees joined to create ONE DAY (원데이), and almost immediately, they were split into two separate groups, ballad-oriented 2AM (4 trainees) and hip-hop/R&B-oriented 2PM (7 trainees). He made his debut in September 2008 as 2PM's lead rapper, vocalist and maknae with their first single album, "Hottest Time of Day". The following year, they began achieving commercial success when the single "Again & Again" reached #1 in the South Korean charts. He enlisted for his mandatory military service on June 11, 2019, and was discharged on January 5, 2021. In December 2021, he announced his marriage and his fiancée's pregnancy with their first child. He also announced his departure from JYP Entertainment following the expiration of his contract. He also decided to remain part of 2PM.
