Takahashi Kazuya
Takahashi Kazuya, born Takahashi Kazuya (高橋一也), is a Japanese rock and country singer-songwriter, actor, and voice actor born in Tokyo, Japan. He is currently a member of the band Rockon Social Club (ロッコン・ソーシャル・クラブ) and was previously a member of the rock band Otokogumi (男闘呼組). He is affiliated with Alpha Agency (アルファエージェンシー). Takahashi was introduced to music at a young age by his father, who ran a live house in Shinjuku. He joined Johnny & Associates (ジャニーズ事務所) while in his second year of junior high school, later becoming a member of Otokogumi. In 1988, he received the Best New Artist Award at the 30th Japan Record Awards (第30回日本レコード大賞最優秀新人賞). He and the other members of Otokogumi also starred in the film Rock yo, Shizuka ni Nagareyo (ロックよ、静かに流れよ), which earned them the Newcomer Award at the 43rd Mainichi Film Awards (第43回毎日映画コンクール). After the completion of the stage production Slav Boys (スラブ・ボーイズ) in 1993, Takahashi was dismissed from Johnny & Associates and Otokogumi went on hiatus.
