Choi Yoo Jung
Choi Yoo Jung is a South Korean singer, dancer and former member of I.O.I (아이오아이) and WEKI MEKI (위키미키). She graduated from Seoul Performing Arts High School. Before debuting, she started out as a trainee under Fantagio i-Teen, a rookie talent development program under Fantagio (판타지오), as part of i-Teen Girls. She appeared in several episodes of label mate ASTRO's "To Be Continued". In January 2016, she participated in the survival show "Produce 101", where she finished in 3rd place, thus securing a spot in the show's project group. She debuted in May 2016 as I.O.I's lead dancer, lead rapper and lead vocalist with their first EP, "Chrysalis", and actively promoted as a whole and as a sub-unit for less than a year before YMC Entertainment (YMC엔터테인먼트) and Swing Entertainment (스윙엔터테인먼트) announced their disbandment in January 2017. She returned to her agency and re-debuted in August 2017 as WEKI MEKI's main rapper, main dancer, vocalist and face of the group with their first EP, "Weme". She has acted in several dramas, written the rap portion of several of the group's songs and was part of the collaboration group between WJSN and Weki Meki called WJMK. She debuted as a soloist in 2022 with the single "Sunflower". In August 2024, Fantagio announced WEKI MEKI's disbandment as five members decided not to renew their contracts and left the company.
