Jung Chae Yeon is a South Korean singer, dancer, actress, former member of I.O.I (아이오아이) and current member of DIA (다이아). She graduated from Seoul Performing Arts High School. She made her acting debut in the 2015 web drama "Sweet Temptation". In January 2016, she participated in the survival show "Produce 101", where she finished in 7th place, thus securing a spot in the show's project group. She debuted in May 2016 as I.O.I's vocalist and visual with their first EP, "Chrysalis", and actively promoted as a whole and as separate sub-units for less than a year before YMC Entertainment (YMC엔터테인먼트) and Swing Entertainment (스윙엔터테인먼트) announced their disbandment in January 2017. She returned to her agency and re-debuted in September 2015 as DIA's vocalist, rapper, visual and face of the group with their first album, "Do It Amazing". The group underwent several lineup changes less than a year after debuting and was split into two subgroups, with each promoting and releasing their own songs. These changes delayed or postponed releases, which hindered their ability to gain more fans. In December 2016, she debuted as part of the sub-unit BCHCS (later renamed BCHC) with the digital single "First Miracle DIAID I". In late 2022, DIA left PocketDol Studio (포켓돌스튜디오) as the members did not renew their contracts. The group has not officially disbanded but is on indefinite hiatus. She is currently represented by BH Entertainment (BH엔터테인먼트). (Source: MyDramaList) Edit Biography
